02. Copán Full day
An early morning departure from your hotel will take you on a excellent paved highway through Western Honduras, following the Chamelecon River Valley. Throughout the trip you will see enchanting rural scenes, which will include forested mountains, livestock farms, tobacco plantations and in the higher elevations, coffee "fincas".
The trip to Copán will take under three hours. Upon arrival to the Ruins, our bilingual guide will give you a walking tour of the main archaeological site, including the acropolis, the ball court, the hieroglyphic stairway and the great plaza of the stelaes. Lunch will be provided in the quaint colonial town of Copán Ruinas, after which a visit to the archaeological museum in town will be a perfect complement to what you have seen in the site itself. Time for shopping and strolling around town will be allowed prior to our departure in the late afternoon towards San Pedro Sula.
