Botanical garden, Los Micos Lagoon &
Garífuna village
Your tour guide will
pick you at your hotel and drive you to
the community of Miami; an ethnic group
that arrived to Honduras in 1797 from the
Caribbean Island of Saint Vincent, the Garifunas
have retained much of its ancient culture
and beliefs including music, language, religion
and gastronomy. From here you will take
a boat ride to Laguna Los Micos Lagoon;
surrounded by a tropical forest filled with
a variety of canals and mangroves.
Exotic plants and
trees mark this unique and popular area
for any nature and bird lover where you
will find more than 350 bird species. Upon
visiting the lagoon you will head back to
Miami community for a great typical seafood
lunch; and for an excellent termination
of this top seller you will visit Lancetilla
Botanical Garden; established in 1926 as
an experimental site by the Tela Railroad
Company, Lancetilla is the second largest
tropical Garden in the world. The Park boasts
a variety of plants from Central America
as well as from other tropical lands throughout
the planet. End of tour and transfer to
San Pedro Sula.
